It is also important to consider other furniture pieces you may want to include in your bedroom design plan such as an armoire, a bedroom vanity or a full length mirror. A typical bedroom set includes the bed, a nightstand or a pair of nightstands. In addition to a bed and nightstand, larger bedroom sets may include a dresser, a dresser and mirror combo or a TV armoire or a wardrobe armoire.
Generally bedroom vanities contain a table, a mirror, and a stool and come in a variety of designs. Some of them even have drawers, cabinets and shelves and the rationale behind a vanity is that it is a storage space for all your toiletries, and a place where you can apply your makeup and do up your hair.
A bedroom vanity can be a beautiful as well as practical addition to a bedroom. You can add a vintage or retro touch when you want a bit of classic elegance in the bedroom. There are also plenty of vanities with a more modern feel that can still be just as elegant and sophisticated as a more vintage style. In any case, you have lots of choices in vanities to suit any type of style and preference for your bedroom.
Choosing vanities require effort and careful consideration. You would need to first decide what purpose the piece would serve. Whether it is for purely functional purposes or do you need it to be decorative too? Besides this you must also consider the rest of your bedroom pieces as well as whether you want the piece to be modern or traditional.
For instance, many vanities come in sets that include stools. These stools tend to only have legs, but there are a few that are miniature chairs that can seat you comfortably with a back rest and arm rests. While stools are usually not made to accommodate storage spaces, they do tend to sit high enough for you to place items under them if necessary. Of course, stools found in a set will match the vanity in color and the material from which it was made.
Vanities, you know those small table-cum-cabinets with the mirror on top, and benches or chairs to match, are indispensable to womens bedrooms. It is the place where you would dress, the place where you could admire and enhance your beauty, the place that belongs to you and nobody else. It serves to hold your cosmetics, your brushes and combs, and other essential and personal possessions. It gives you the mirror to examine yourself and help you dress. It also gives you the place where you can sit and go into reveries or dreams while you brush your hair, if you so wish. Both functionally as well as emotionally, not having bedroom vanities would be a loss.
