Molly’s Amazing Rescue

4 years ago, While driving Down State Road 44 I saw her, she was just standing on the white line of the road….it was February, and very cold.  She was picking at something dead. Thin, dirty, and full of milk from puppies, clearly she had been dumped. I don’t know what happened to the puppies, they weren’t with her.  I pulled over and she was SO excited that someone stopped, I started to cry as she jumped all over me, Now we’re both covered in dirt.  I opened my door and she jumped in. I headed right to my vet.  She slept the whole way there and for 48 hours after that.  She had heart worm, which we treated….and I brought her home to ‘find a home for her’….which I did – ours!  She’s been the best dog, loyal, sweet, protective, great with children, and funny…she makes me laugh every day. she’s NOT a morning dog and will stay in bed (she makes a nest!) as long as she possibly can. So what did I name her? MollySueFlirtyMcFlirtGoodGirlWilliams, for short MollySueLaRue!
She makes me laugh every day.  I’m so thankful our paths crossed – I love her the most!

I’ve been fortunate enough to be Molly’s personal attendant (dog walker) since she rescued her owner on that cold day. She is a treat and she keeps big brother Gunner on his toes.

My mom has always told me “Honey, we don’t choose them…dogs choose us” and she is absolutely right. Sounds like Molly knew EXACTLY who she was choosing…her forever home. May you have many more years of love, laughter and happiness!!

I love the picture of Molly especially since she is not a morning dog. Great story and Molly is a lucky girl to have such a great home!
